Food, Fun, and Friendship: A Friendsgiving Dinner at Galpão Gaucho

Many choose to reunite with family or relatives for Turkey day. For me, I love to celebrate both Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving. It has become an annual tradition for my friends and I.

If you haven't heard of this alternative get-together, it's the day you have a holiday dinner in November but with your best buds. It can be celebrated before the third Thursday of the month or the day of.

I couldn't think of a better place to have a Friendsgiving dinner than Galpão Gaucho, a Brazilian Steakhouse inside Fashion Show Las Vegas. Dining here brought back so many wonderful memories of my first Friendsgiving in Las Vegas, which just happened to be with a family from Brazil. I was so excited to eat here with one of my best friends, Celine and share this dining experience with her.

What's It Like Dining at Galpão Gaucho

Galpão Gaucho offers authentic Brazilian cowboy food and excellent service. From their out-of-this-world dishes to the staff's warm hospitality, every guest will indeed have an incredible experience; one that you'll remember for many years. The restaurant also has a family, relaxed and cozy atmosphere, making it an excellent place for small and large parties.

What to Try

I'm the type to try everything from the menu, so I loved having the option to taste all 17 cuts of flavorful meats – which were served on long skewers and sliced at table side by roaming servers. My favorites were the Filet Mignon, Garlic Picanhca, Shrimp and Pork Ribs. In addition, hot side dishes such as fried bananas and mashed potatoes were also included along with chimichurri and spicy sauce.

Their giant salad bar was oh-so heavenly! It consisted of fresh salads, vegetables, cheeses and soup. The standouts for me were the deviled eggs, mini Caprese skewers, green beans, artichoke hearts and cured meats.

It seemed impossible at the time, but I was actually able to make room for desserts. I tried the traditional Brazilian flan and my friend tried the traditional pudding. Both were absolutely delicious!
