Savoring Our Vegas Staycation at Durango Casino and Resort

If you're craving an unforgettable Las Vegas vacation where indulgence meets culinary delight, you have to check in at the Durango Casino and Resort. Their luxury hotel and exquisite restaurants have quickly become a go-to for locals and tourists alike.

After a weekend filled to the brim with delectable cuisine and expertly crafted cocktails, the entire experience immediately went to the top of our list of favorite staycations in Las Vegas – so let me take you through each moment during our stay.

From the minute we stepped through the doors, our experience at Durango Casino and Resort was exceptional. Check-in was a breeze. And the cherry on top? Complimentary valet and parking set the tone for a hassle-free stay that had my husband and I slipping effortlessly into vacation mode.

As we strolled through the lobby and into the casino, Durango exuded an irresistible blend of sophistication and classic Vegas charm. The ambiance was akin to being whisked away to a lavish resort in Mexico and still retaining that unmistakable allure of a Vegas getaway.

The rooms are a perfect blend of contemporary opulence – complete with the unexpected luxury of our very own personal butler.

Here marks the start of our culinary journey. Some of the best restaurants in Las Vegas are in the hotel, and I can't wait to whisk you away on a tour of our vacation.

Unwinding in Style at the Bel-Aire Lounge

Our Durango adventure kicked off in style at the Bel-Aire Lounge, a chic retreat with an enticing indoor-outdoor setup overlooking the pool. It's an excellent rendezvous spot for catching up with friends or simply unwinding in luxury.

The ambiance at Bel-Aire is nothing short of delightful – think light, airy decor and a menu brimming with decadent drinks. As we settled in, we found ourselves indulging in killer cocktails, sampling light appetizers, and even engaging in a friendly game of pool. With each sip and every bite, the mood remained light-hearted, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.

So whether you're craving a leisurely afternoon by the pool or seeking to revel in the vibrant nightlife, Bel-Aire Lounge promises an experience to remember.

Savoring Sunshine at Summer House

Stepping into Summer House was like entering a world of indulgence and sunshine. With its delicate decor and warm ambiance, it perfectly captures that California-inspired charm.

What I loved most about the menu is that it keeps things fresh! My husband had their fan-favorite Skirt Steak Frites, and I had their Crab Cake seasonal special. While both dishes were delightful, the show's true star was undoubtedly the Potato Salad Deviled Eggs. Trust me, one bite, and you'll be hooked!

The cocktail menu at Summer House is a masterpiece in itself. From crisp, citrus-infused concoctions to tangy drinks, there's something to suit every palate. And for those seeking a moment of respite from the spirits, their zero-proof options are just as divine. The Cookie Bar at Summer House is an absolute must-visit. We had to save room for dessert because once you lay eyes on their Cookie Bar and infamous Gooey Lemon Cake, it's over!

A Modern Twist on a Classic: Wax Rabbit Speakeasy

When my husband and I ventured into Mijo's hidden speakeasy, Wax Rabbit, we were met with a sultry atmosphere blended with traditional Latin charm. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were enveloped in a dimly lit ambiance that delivered the most refreshing mezcal cocktails to finish off the entire aesthetic.

But the magic didn't stop there – as fate would have it, we even crossed paths with some dear friends, adding an unexpected layer of joy to an already unforgettable evening.

Eat Your Heart Out

Forget the Hall of Fame – let me introduce you to the Hall of Foods, Eat Your Heart Out. We were blown away by the culinary offerings here. Burgers, sushi, noodles – you name it, they've got it! When hunger strikes, you know you'll find plenty of options here.

And when the midnight cravings hit, the 24/7 Oyster Bar beckons. This hidden gem was the perfect spot for indulging in a classic Vegas midnight snack, where every slurp was a refreshing taste of the ocean's finest.

The next day, we fueled up with coffee from Vesta, then dove back into the Food Hall for some top-notch Italian grub at Fiorella. Watching the talented chefs work their magic in the open kitchen added an extra layer of excitement to our dining experience.

Trying the Morano Family pizza at Prince St. Pizza for the first time made us realize just how special this little corner of Durango truly is. Each slice was a masterpiece of thick, crunchy, and airy perfection.

And if you're going to order pizza, you simply must pair it with a homemade custard from Nielsen's Frozen Custard. Despite the long lines at both spots, trust me – it's worth the short wait. The creamy, velvety texture of the custard paired perfectly with the savory goodness of the pizza, creating a culinary experience that we won't soon forget.

You can't go wrong with any of the spots in the Hall of Foods. We spent a big part of our stay here because of the sheer volume of unexpected treasures.
