Sands Hotel and Spa: Inside a Magical Moroccan Oasis in Palm Springs
It's very rare for me to go somewhere only to check out a hotel in a city. I'm used to having a full itinerary filled with places to see and activities to do. But the moment I laid eyes on all the stunning photos taken at Sands Hotel & Spa in Palm Springs, I knew I had to see it for myself.
Wow, I am so happy I did.
The moment I stepped foot on the property, I was greeted with a stunning doorway and the soothing sounds of water flowing in the fountain. I then, of course, began "oohing and ahhing" at the magnificent lobby filled with handcrafted decorative tiles. The whole place is absolutely striking and inspiring. I felt like I was transported to a luxurious resort in Morocco.
Sands Hotel & Spa’s awe-inspiring designs had me asking myself... Should I change into my bathing suit and relax at their beautiful day beds and cabanas now? Or do I want to get a massage inside the Moroccan spa? Or should I indulge in Mediterranean cuisine at the Pink Cabana first?!
I'm so glad my friend convinced me to book a few nights here. I mean, who would say no to an R&R weekend at one of the most dazzling hotels in California?
Now, without further ado, here's an inside look at this Magical Moroccan-themed hotel in Palm Springs.
The Rooms – Deluxe King
While all of the rooms are well decorated, I do recommend upgrading. I've seen both the Superior King and Deluxe King, and I preferred the latter. The Deluxe King has more space, a separate seating area, and a full in-room bar. Let's not forget the private patio with a custom Moroccan fountain. Loved!
The Pool – Cabana Service
The pool at Sands Hotel & Spa is pretty small, but the service was still quite excellent. The servers were friendly, and they handed out complimentary shots of cocktails to all the guests at the pool. The daybeds and chairs are first come, first serve.
If possible, I suggest reserving one of their cabanas as it gets pretty busy during the spring/summer. It's $250 for the whole day, and you also get to have two reserved chairs next to the pool.
The Restaurant and Bar - Pink Cabana
Pink Cabana offers Mediterranean cuisine with a Moroccan influence. I'm sure many people enjoyed the foods served during lunch and dinner, but my favorite items were from the breakfast menu. I should probably expand my palate and enjoy new foods!
The bar also offers highly curated wines and seasonal cocktails from Mediterranean climates and the Great Spice Route. I tried the Cabana Colada and Sage Margarita, and they were absolutely delicious!
The Spa - Highly Recommended
Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to experience the spa since they were fully booked. But it was highly recommended by the other hotel guests.
